Often called "The Poor Man's Mesa Rectifier", I've owned both and can attest that's not far off at all as far as sound. FIRST RATE SOUNDING AMP! Priced way cheap to move quick and because the reverb isn't working.
When reviewed, Guitar One Magazine gave this amp its "Top Award"
Guitar World bestowed upon it their "Platinum Award"
It indeed is a fantastic amp, especially for extremely hard, heavy, metal rock. 100 Watt. Three channels. Lot's of usable features including a knob to choose between tube class A, class AB, or solid state. Includes the four button foot switch (metal, not plastic housing).Besides that the head is in excellent condition. The mono/stereo cab also is a quality piece of gear made with Baltic Birch construction, metal handles and equipped with casters(wheels). Not sure who made the "B-52" speakers, probably Eminence. Whatever, pushed by this head they sound fantastic. Cab has several tears in the "tolex"/covering. Not too bad though, almost all on the back. Price is firm. CALL 353-0160.
